My superpower is figuring things out and then figuring out how to make them better.
As a technical content editor, I’m known for simplifying complicated concepts. I excel at digging into the sticky details to discover why something isn’t working, fix it, and align it with the bigger picture. I love the challenge of taking something big and messy and making it understandable and engaging for target audiences.
With a learn-by-doing mindset, I’m willing to jump into a new situation, find my footing, and figure things out. I started in marketing with an in-house team before moving to a small agency and, eventually, freelancing. In five years, I built a portfolio of primarily retainer clients, writing for newsletters, newspaper articles, magazine features, corporate blogs, and B2B websites.
In my most recent role at Workday, I managed a team of editors and translation reviewers whose purpose was to ensure the training materials. This included completing ongoing reviews of new and updated course materials, restructuring entire portfolios to follow a minimalist writing style, and redesigning instructor-led training as a self-paced offering. I also managed projects and initiatives to adopt new accessibility standards, including updating language to remove ableist and non-inclusive terminology, adding closed captions to video content, and updating graphics for color contrast.
A few others things you should know: I live in San Diego with my husband, daughter, our 15-year-old rescue pup, and an adopted African leopard tortoise. I magically turn string into clothes with sticks (meaning I collect yarn, then use it to knit or crochet stuff). I’m an avid (romance) reader, dedicated runner, die-hard SF Giants fan, and doing-it-with-a-broken-heart Swiftie. I’m a passionate supporter of the Oxford comma and parallel lists. And I possess a deep well of Friends trivia.

Led team of five editors and translation reviewers for Workday Education. Monitored/reported team progress regarding key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs). Collaborated cross-functionally with content developers, graphic designers, media team, and other stakeholders to improve content quality and workflow efficiency for instructor-led training (ILT/vILT) and eLearning (on-demand) course development.
Reviewed/edited approximately 15 pieces of content monthly (ranging from course manuals, slide decks, video scripts, video closed captions, certification exams, eLearning modules) for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with style guide and brand standards.
